Ok, here i start, sketching off in a new file (A4, 150dpi,RGB) on photoshop CS on my Dell Dimension C521… in this step, it is mostly a hard brush with gray color or low opacity so i can get draw over and over.
Inking is one of my most favorite parts as i get to PLAY around with a hard brush (70% flow, Size Jitter set to pen pressure and spacing to under 10%) … Zoom in and out for details.
The flats … They are evil, as they take most of the time, i never use the magic wand and no one MUST use it! just color in with a big hard brush (set it to Oval shape so it is easier to reach tough edges), color color color erase erase erase … an hour later with PORTISHEAD and you have a satisfying result.
I did not skip so much here! i just started adding layers for shading and highlights, pick three tones darker and three tones lighter for that, using a soft brush.
The difference here is the cleaning part, the smoothing effect, at some parts i felt like the shades were too strong so i started smudging and brushing around happily to reach a good result.
With many trials and experiements for the background, i just came up with the abstract space thing and of course the title (The adventures of Space babes) … i am happy now, me go sleep! (i think that i need to do this and that, brush here and there! but the heck, i love it!)
This one goes for the true SPACE BABES: Noor and Abeer …. Enjoy!
